Book swap, anyone?

I have a handful of recently-read crime novels that need good homes. Free to whoever asks first, or has something comparable to swap. There's a whole slew of Georges Simenon Maigrets; The Silver Swan by Benjamin Black; Genesis by Karin Slaughter; Jonathan Kellerman's Rage, Obsession, and Blood Test; Land of the Living by Nicci French, and Murder in the Latin Quarter by Cara Black. All in perfect condition.

I'd love to have a few, but I don't have anything in return. I mostly listen to audiobooks, but when I find the time, I like to read also (normally ones that don't have associated audiobooks).

What do you recommend? I read the Detective Archie books that you rec'd and really, really liked those - anything that's dark. I have to say except for Kellerman, I'm not familiar with the others.

Have you read the Kellerman's I've listed? Those are dark. The others, not so much. Glad you liked the Chelsea Cain books. I liked her humour, especially Susan's character.

I'm so glad to see that someone else reads Cara Black - she has a huge following in the States but is less well known here - I have all her books (otherwise I'd take yours, but I do have it. Sorry) -she's a favourite when I wish I was in Paris, or I feel like hanging out with Aimee Leduc ( we're in this together, she and I) on her flea market visits, or help her fight her way through the complicated obstacles she meets (like temporary blindness) I never get tired of her, and because I have a mind like a sieve, solutions to the crimes are always a surprise - my personal favourite is 'Murder in the Rue de Paradis' -but the one about the Corsican Separatists is a close second - she also has a great website, with tips on Paris places, etc. She one of those authors one thinks of as a friend. Have you read Fred Vargas?

Hello, Anonymous! This was the first Cara Black I'd read. I picked it up because the UK cover was so funky - and of course, it's PARIS. What's not to love? I haven't read Fred Vargas yet, no. Please recommend me a book to start with?

oh, sorry for the delay - I'm very bad about following up these blogs - The first Fred Vargas book I read was 'The Chalk Circle Man' the most recent one I've read was 'This Night's Foul Work.' I think 'Have Mercy On Us All' was her first one - ideally, I'd start with that.

Thanks for the Vargas recs, Anon. I'll check those out.

I second the recommendation for Vargas! Her Inspector Adamsberg mysteries are divine.
