I LOVED this story, Sarah; it has so many layers it is just one big scrumptious cake
Also, I was taken by the name -- Molly Coddle -- and I particularly liked the ending; when I was young, my folks, particularly my mother, used to let me know she was upset by saying she and I were about to have Words. I could hear the capital W in her voice. Some days, all the letters were capitalized.
And then, we've talked before about the different ways words are used in the States and in Britain, and there were a number of such words in Two Minute Silence.
But I was captivated even more, in the story, by the differences and similarities in the way people of both nations do things. For example, here in the States, we called that day in November Veterans' Day, but we pass out poppies, too.
You have every reason to be chuffed about this one, Kiddo. Top drawer and cool beans!

That was fantastic. Like eating raw chocolate in the raiforest canopy, holding yourself aloft with a rainy vine while watching wild boar snarl around below you.
Or something like that. It was lots of stories, and brilliant bits. I love "are, eye, pea" and how we learn so much about the grandmother by this: "She always repeated things but she hardly ever answered questions. ‘Curiosity killed the cat,’ she said."
